EDiiTING

Editing:
Editing is the process of selecting and preparing written, visual, audible and film media used to convey information through the processes of correction, condensation, organization and other modifications performed with an intention of producing a correct consistent, accurate and complete work.
In todays generation, Editing is quick/cheap and also easy to use.

Analogue Technology . . .
  • Initial Editing of all films was done with positive copy of the films, Negative film workprint.
  • This was done physically cutting and pasting together pieces of film, Using a splicer and threading the film on a mchine.
  • In the past, the use of film positive allowed the director to do as much experiment as he or she wished, Without the risk of damaging the original.
Limitations . . .
  • Had to be very skilled to do edit properly
  • Fake like: Didnt seem realistic
  • Splicing damaged the original, The loss of quality.
  • Analog tape can be erased or destroyed accidentally and this can happen at the worst time.
Advantage's  . . .
  • The recording does not degrade over time. As long as the numbers can be read, You will always get exactly the same wave.
